Beskrivning

This course aims at giving students an opportunity to work independently under supervision on an in-depth study of issues relating to both theory and practice in English linguistics. By applying such theories and also relying on relevant research, students are expected to write a scientific research paper on a selected topic in the field resulting in a 30 hec Master thesis in English linguistics.

Behörighet och anmälan

Förkunskapskrav:

A Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent with 90 hec (in depth) pass grade in English including a linguistic research essay, or equivalent foreign degree. In addition, a further requirement is 60 hec in advanced language courses, 30 hec of which (including EN2D11 or equivalent) must be from the main subject, and 30 hec of reading courses at Master´s level also within the main subject. Written proficiency within the In-depth Undergraduate Course, or 7.5 no part under 6.5 or TOEFL 625, TWE score 5.5, or equivalent must be included.

Entrance requirements valid from the academic year 2013/2014: A Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent with 90 hec (in depth) pass grade in English including a linguistic research essay, or equivalent foreign degree. In addition, a further requirement is 60 hec in advanced english courses, 30 hec of which including EN2M01. Written proficiency within the In-depth Undergraduate Course, or IELTS 7.5 no part under 6.5 or TOEFL 625, TWE score 5.5 or equivalent must be included.
