Beskrivning

Industrialisation brings about economic growth and raising living standards. The aim of the course is to examine the spread of industrialization and the lack thereof since the industrial revolution in Great Britain. Methodological issues such as the measurement of long run economic growth rates will also be carefully considered. Besides giving the student empirical knowledge of historical industrialization processes and methodological considerations an important theme of the course is theoretical reflections on the grand question: why isn t the whole world developed?
