Those coming to the University of Gothenburg from abroad have a number of options when it comes to finding accommodation. However, there is a great deal of demand for accommodation, and you should be prepared to be flexible in terms of considering various types of accommodation to begin with.

Free movers must find and apply for their own accommodation. Most students find a place to stay via Boplats Göteborg, the marketplace for rental apartments in Gothenburg.

What type of student am I?

An exchange student comes to the University of Gothenburg through an exchange agreement. The student is here for a limted amount of time usually one or two semesters. 

A free mover student is an international student that applies for courses or full programmes at the University of Gothenburg, through the application portal universityadmissions.se.
