During spring the University of Gothenburg has engaged students from the United Kingdom and China in a Social Media Challenge. We want to connect with international students via social media, and we thought that the best way of knowing how, is to ask the students themself.
We decided to launch a competition on Facebook and RenRen. On May 7, ten finalist from China and five finalists from UK was selected. It was not any easy task to select winners, but on May 21 two winners for each country was announced along with two winners of the popular choice award.
The University of Gothenburg wants to congratulate all the winners and thank everyone who entered the competitions, for their work and great entries.

"It was a pleasure to take part in this competition and be selected as a winner. I hope that some of the ideas from my proposal can be pushed forward and be beneficial for the University. The standard of the other entries was very high and it was interesting to see their ideas. The competition has allowed me to discover what a prestigious institute this University is and has given me many ideas to use in the future".

"The SNS Reality Show Game can bridge the Chinese students and University of Gothenburg. Through the use of SNS, I was able to inform my friends on voting information. In just a few days, my entry received more than 400 people to vote for me. This competition has given me great insight to not only the University of Gothenburg, but also the charm of SNS. I am grateful for the sponsor and my friends"

"I found the competition to be a challenging exercise in creative thinking. I genuinely believe that my idea will drive students to the University of Gothenburg's website and hopefully result in an increase of quality master's applications. In any case, through the competition I have learned a great deal about the University, much of which I didn't know before. I would recommend it to anyone."
