Arrival Information

The following is some information intended to facilitate your arrival in Gothenburg.

Arrival points

Landvetter Airport: Arrivals at Landvetter airport can take a bus directly to the city centre. The bus runs regularly and the cost one way is SEK 70.

Gothenburg City Airport: Arrivals at Gothenburg City Airport can take a bus directly to the city centre. The timetable follows the arrival times of the flights and the bus leaves when all the passengers have disembarked the plane. The cost one way is SEK 50.

Train station: Arrivals to the Central train station arrive directly in the city centre.

Bus station: Arrivals to the Central bus station arrive directly in the city centre.

Stena Line terminal: Go to the tram stop across the street from the terminal and take tram number 3 (towards Kålltorp) and get off at Vasa/Viktoriagatan. Take a right on Karl-Gustavsgatan and walk up-hill to number 29 (approximately 250 meters).

Getting to our office: Once you have arrived to the Central train/bus station, you should take tram number 3 (towards Marklandsgatan) and get off at the stop "Vasa/Viktoriagatan". From there, you cross the street "Vasagatan" and walk uphill on Karl-Gustavsgatan until you see number 29 and a University of Gothenburg sign (approximately 250 meters).

If you arrive by car you can drive directly to our office. You can find a map at Google Maps.

Housing contracts and keys

Upon arrival in Gothenburg, you should come to our (Exchange Student Services) office on Karl Gustavsgatan 29 to sign your housing contract (if you have reserved housing through us) and pick up the key to your room.

If you arrive late or on a weekend and our office is closed, you should make arrangements for accommodation for your first night(s) in Gothenburg. If you need to make a reservation for one or more nights, you can contact the SGS hostel "Veckobostäder".
